Description
Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, relevant Nurse Practice Acts, and regulatory agency standards.Essential Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
- Stay current with product and practice changes through ongoing education to promote cost-effective care.
- Apply specialized knowledge to make appropriate patient care assignments based on acuity and technical needs.
- Enhance the workplace by integrating evidence-based practices and new functional skills.
- Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
- Communicate proactively to manage patient and provider expectations, ensuring a positive experience through patient rounding and timely responses.
- Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
- Prioritize safety for patients, guests, associates, and self by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.
- Engage in career development through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance participation.
- Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and mentoring others.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire.
- Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.
- Current active Registered Nurse licensure as required by the regional nursing board.
Work Shift: Day and evening shifts available.
This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
