Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health concerns, leading to accurate clinical diagnoses and individualized treatment plans.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using well-established, evidence-based practices customized to accommodate the unique needs, backgrounds, and aspirations of each client.
- Provide urgent crisis intervention services for clients facing acute mental health challenges or emergencies, ensuring immediate support and safety.
- Maintain detailed and confidential client records, documenting treatment plans, progress notes, and evaluation results in compliance with state regulations and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team comprising psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic and cohesive support to clients.
- Educate clients and their families about mental health issues, potential treatment paths, and available resources in the community, advocating for clients' rights and needs.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities to stay current with advancements in mental health treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will be working with a diverse clientele that includes individuals and families facing various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and interpersonal conflicts. By establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship, you will assist clients in navigating their personal challenges, promoting emotional well-being and resilience.
Qualifications
- Must be licensed as a Mental Health Therapist (LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, LCSW) in Maryland.
- A master's or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills are essential for effective treatment planning.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health counseling role.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients and stakeholders alike.
- A proven ability to work both independently, while also being a cooperative member of a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards in clinical practice.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a clinical or community health care setting is preferred, although fresh graduates with commitment and passion for the field are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and multidisciplinary case management is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
