Work Environment
This remote position grants you the flexibility to deliver therapy in a virtual setting, enabling you to connect with clients from the comfort of your own home. Our community health clinic operates with a strong focus on compassionate care and evidence-based practices, ensuring that our therapists have the resources they need to succeed. With a regular schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., you will maintain a structured work-life balance while making a significant impact on the lives of those in need.
Key Responsibilities
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Maxim Healthcare, your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks designed to support our clients' mental health:
- Conduct thorough evaluations to understand the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, paving the way for effective treatment strategies.
- Collaboratively develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clients' unique needs, aspirations, and preferences.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to facilitate progress.
- Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care practices to empower them in their recovery journey.
- Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.
- Stay informed of the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment to continuously enhance therapeutic approaches.
- Ensure meticulous record-keeping in compliance with legal and ethical standards, maintaining client confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Advocate for clients' mental health needs and work towards reducing the stigma associated with mental illness.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role focuses primarily on clients experiencing mood disorders, including various demographics such as homeless individuals, refugees seeking refuge, domestic abuse survivors, and others requiring urgent psychological support. You will play a crucial role in not only addressing their mental health challenges but also in implementing community-oriented initiatives that provide additional resources and support.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Active and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to establish trust and rapport with clients.
- Demonstrated empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude toward clients' experiences.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively balance clinical responsibilities.
Preferred Experience
While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, those with prior experience in community mental health services, especially working with diverse populations and employing evidence-based therapies, will be given preference. A deep understanding of trauma-informed care is an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
