Key Responsibilities
- Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to each client's unique situation.
- Perform comprehensive assessments to diagnose mental health issues and create personalized treatment plans that encourage the achievement of therapeutic goals.
- Engage with clients in setting measurable treatment objectives, regularly evaluating progress and adjusting plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
- Provide crisis intervention when needed, guiding clients through immediate challenges, and referring them to additional resources or services across the community.
- Maintain thorough clinical documentation that complies with state regulations and ethical standards, ensuring all client interactions and treatment progress are accurately recorded.
- Actively pursue professional development opportunities, such as workshops and training sessions, to enhance clinical skills and stay current with advancements in the mental health field.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This position primarily focuses on diverse clients, including children, adolescents, and adults facing various mental health challenges and relational issues. Our ideal therapist will be sensitive to the complexities of family dynamics, providing support that respects each client's background, values, and personal experiences. As our client base includes various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, this role requires cultural competence and adaptability to meet various client needs.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Maryland.
- A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field is required.
- At least 4 years of experience working in an outpatient mental health setting, demonstrating a strong background in therapy and counseling practices.
- Proficient knowledge of evidence-based interventions and treatment modalities, with a focus on outcomes for clients.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and foster collaborative relationships.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with diverse populations, particularly in an outpatient context.
- Familiarity with modern telehealth tools and practices, given the remote nature of the work setting.
- Experience in crisis intervention strategies and familiarity with local resources for client referrals.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is competitive, offering an annual salary between $80,000 and $95,000 based on experience and qualifications.
